Yogurt-eating, Guitar-playing, Friend of the Manta Ray: It's Dylan Peruti's Profile!

Who teaches History of Rock n Roll, World and US History AND Chess Club? Dylan Peruti!

Some teachers just get it. They understand that middle schoolers need someone who sees their potential through the awkwardness, who can make the Revolutionary War feel as epic as their favorite album, and who genuinely cares about their growth as humans, not just students. Dylan Peruti is one of those rare educators who brings his whole authentic self to Aveson—complete with his guitar, his fearlessness of manta rays, and an infectious enthusiasm for both historical empires and chess strategy.

As a middle school advisor at Aveson Global Leadership Academy in Pasadena, Dylan embodies what makes our school special: the belief that learning should be joyful, relationships should be real, and every student deserves to be known and valued for exactly who they are. Whether he's strumming his guitar during car line to send kids home with a smile or diving deep into the stories that shaped our world, Dylan proves daily that great teaching is about so much more than curriculum—it's about connection.

Dylan Peruti, Middle School (mostly), World history/US history/History of Rock n Roll/Chess, my 3rd year at Aveson!

What’s your background and how has that prepared you for your role here at Aveson?

I earned my Master's in Educational Technology and my Single Subject Credential for Social Science from the University of La Verne. The program was equity-focused, rigorous, and comprehensive in its approach. I was fortunate to teach as an intern, rather than student-teach, which accelerated my pedagogy. I've taught at big-box districts, large charters, and now Aveson.

What do you LOVE about Aveson - what sets it apart from other schools?

I love the freedom that Aveson gives me to support my students' needs.

What do you love most about your role at Aveson?

What I love the most about my role at Aveson is being an advisor to the same group of students through their middle school careers. I get to build a strong connection and make a significant difference in their lives.

What did you want to be when you were 5?

I always wanted to be a rockstar.

He’s a rockstar to us, that’s for sure. Dylan's story captures the heart of what makes Aveson extraordinary—we don't just hire teachers; we welcome whole humans who bring their passions, gifts, and genuine care for students into our classrooms every day. Like alumni Cole Terry discovered during his 12-year journey with us, the magic happens when students feel truly seen and supported by adults who believe in their potential.

At Aveson, your child won't just learn about history—they'll be inspired by teachers like Dylan who make the past come alive while helping them write their own future. They'll discover that learning is joyful, that their voice matters, and that school can feel like a second home where they're known, valued, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.
