We know the Aveson community is aware of the financial struggles facing public education, and charter schools are no different. But you might not know that there is a structural deficit between our State funding and our annual operating budget. Therefore, Aveson utilizes any and all available resources to be able to educate our kids in a way that will prepare them as global citizens.

From administering after-school activities to archiving, painting murals to preparing proposals, writing for this website to washing windows… Aveson needs your help. 2. Aveson's Annual Fund 2011-12

(Note: The Fiscal Year runs from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012)

The Annual Fund is a yearly effort to raise unrestricted funds to help bridge the gap between the state budget and our total operating expenses. The Annual Fund is the most flexible and immediate source of income for our school; it supports teachers, staff and virtually every other aspect of school life.

We hope that each year, our school and surrounding community including parents, teachers and staff, grandparents and other friends of our school will contribute to the Annual Fund. Whether you give $5 or $5,000, we can not achieve our goal of 100% participation without you. The Annual Fund participation rate is important because it is often used to measure the value our community places on educating their children, and motivates other individuals, foundations and corporations to also support the school.

Remember, Aveson uniquely provides:

    • K-5 (One teacher for every 22 students)
    • 6-12 (one advisor for every 25 students)
  • Personalized Learning
  • Quality Teachers with Specialized Knowledge and Skills

3. Special Events

Funds raised by special events support the programs we want for our children. The events are organized and run by parent volunteers with the support of our teachers and staff. Your support and attendance are encouraged, and in-kind donations as well as items that can be used for bingo prizes, raffles, auction, etc. are also welcome, via the attached form.

4. Painless Fundraisers

Aveson participates in a variety of “painless fundraisers”, ie. things you already do that can generate funds for Aveson. This list will be updated as activities are verified and added.

Fresh & Easy $hop for Schools

Between September 15 and December 31, shop at any Fresh & Easy, and put your receipts valued at $20 or more in the box in the main office.

Target REDcard

Just apply for a REDcard, or if you already have one, designate our school. Aveson’s school ID # is: 125578.

Restaurant Nights

Socialize with friends and family and each restaurant will donate a percentage of your bill to our school. Our monthly Restaurant Nights will be listed on the Aveson Calendar, in the Weekly Bite, and also on www.aveson.org.

Market America

Any product or service bought through our Market America portal, pays the school, and you can get cash back. Just enter through our special web portal: http://www.shopavesonleaders.com, and create an account as a preferred customer!

eScrip

Register your Vons and Safeway cards, Credit Cards, Macy's card. A percentage of what you buy at participating merchants will be sent to the school. You can either visit the website or you can call toll free 1-800-801-4973. Aveson Charter School’s group ID is #500015960.
